Joseph of Nazareth

Joseph of Nazareth was the husband of Mary and the legal, foster father of Jesus — a first-century Jewish builder-craftsman (Greek tekton) of Nazareth, descended from the house of David. He appears only in the infancy narratives of Matthew and Luke, where he speaks not a single recorded word but obeys God's commands given four times in dreams. He is venerated as the patron of workers, families, the dying, carpenters, and the whole Church, with a feast day on March 19.
