Paul the Apostle

Paul of Tarsus (c. 5 – c. 64–67 CE) was a zealous Pharisee who violently persecuted the first Christians until an encounter with the risen Christ turned him into the apostle to the Gentiles. His seven undisputed letters — Romans, 1–2 Corinthians, Galatians, Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, and Philemon — are the earliest Christian writings we possess, older than the Gospels, and he is honored with Saint Peter as a co-founder of the Church of Rome.
