Thomas the Apostle
Thomas was one of the Twelve Apostles, called "the Twin" (Didymus), remembered above all for the scene in John's Gospel where he refused to believe in the resurrection until he saw Christ's wounds — then answered "My Lord and my God," the fullest confession of Jesus's divinity spoken by any disciple. By ancient tradition he carried the Gospel east to India, where the Saint Thomas Christians of Kerala still trace their faith to him, though scholars debate the historicity of that mission. He is venerated as the patron of doubters, of architects and builders, of geometers, and of India.
