Wenceslaus of Bohemia

Wenceslas of Bohemia (Václav, c. 907–935) was a Christian duke of the Přemyslid dynasty, raised in the faith by his grandmother Ludmila and murdered by his younger brother Boleslav on his way to Mass. Venerated as a martyr almost immediately, he became the patron saint of the Czech lands — remembered less for anything he wrote (nothing survives) than for how he ruled and how he died.
